Product updates, new features, and improvements to the CleverX platform.

Improvement

Participant bookmarking, study loading, and data security improvements

Restored the ability to save participants to lists from search and browse pages, fixed study loading race conditions, improved participant data security on shared links, and added member export for groups.

New Features

  • Export group members: Researchers can now export a list of active group members as a spreadsheet, including contact information and location data, with the same access controls as the group itself.

Improvements

  • Bookmark participants again: Restored the bookmark icon on participant cards in search and browse pages, allowing researchers to quickly save participants to lists without navigating away.
  • Participant link reliability: Fixed an issue where participants revisiting a shared study link would see an error if they had logged out, even though they already had an active session for that study.
  • Source link security: Added a safeguard to prevent logged-in users from accidentally accessing another participant’s data when opening a shared study link.

Bug Fixes

  • Study loading stability: Fixed a race condition on the participate page that could leave the study in an error state and require a manual refresh, especially on source-link landings.

Fix

Fixed session filtering and display issues

Fixed multiple issues with how sessions are displayed and filtered in projects, including proper handling of cancelled sessions and duplicate entries.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed the Sessions tab to properly filter out cancelled sessions
  • Resolved duplicate session entries so only the newest session per participant is shown
  • Fixed session visibility for client-rejected interviews
  • Restored recruitment identity information when reinviting participants, allowing re-takes to work properly

Improvement

Pricing lock implementation and video diary refinements

Added per-subscription pricing locks with updated rates and removed unnecessary redirect URL field from video diary tasks.

Improvements

  • Pricing updates: Implemented per-subscription pricing locks with current rate display
  • Video diary task editor: Removed unnecessary “Redirect URL” field and refined instruction editor formatting to match design specifications

Improvement

Improved participant filter organization and accuracy

Restructured how participant filtering works to use clearer field organization and ensure more accurate demographic targeting.

Improvements

  • Better filter structure: Participant filters now use direct field organization (location, age, gender, ethnicity, education, income, employment status, interests, and behaviors) instead of a nested array format, making it easier to manage recruitment criteria
  • More accurate targeting: Demographic filters like ethnicity and income are now resolved in real-time to ensure they match current panel availability and reduce targeting mismatches

Fix

Auto-invite loop fix and screener improvements

Fixed a bug where auto-invited participants got stuck in a loop when trying to start a screener, and improved screener response handling and distribution source limits.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed auto-invited participants getting stuck in a Start-button loop on the screener page. They can now proceed to the next step without needing to refresh.

Improvements

  • Improved handling of response distribution across multiple sources with better limit management and filtering.
  • Enhanced screener response tracking and administration capabilities.

Feature

Video tasks, AI moderator redesign, and task type picker

Added video diary and video interview support with a redesigned AI moderator editor and new task type picker for creating different study task types.

New Features

  • Task type picker — When creating a new task, you can now choose from multiple task types (Video diary, Prototype, Website, First-click, Card sort, Tree test, 5-second, and Preference) instead of creating a single default task type.
  • Video diary editor — New task type for collecting video responses from participants, with a redesigned interface organized by questions and response management.
  • Video interview support — AI Moderator can now conduct interviews in video format with enhanced camera and video controls for more engaging participant interactions.
  • AI Moderator editor redesign — Completely redesigned interface with improved organization (Interview Setup, AI Voice, Moderation Behavior, Discussion Guide, and AI Persona sections) and better visual formatting for topic management and AI persona configuration.
  • Multilingual AI moderator — AI Moderator now supports multiple languages for more inclusive research studies.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where B2C studies would show “Location required” errors even after selecting countries, preventing study launch.

Improvement

Enhanced participant recruitment and filtering improvements

Improved recruitment filter experience with live catalog integration, audience estimation, and expanded filter options for both business and consumer research.

Recruitment Filters

  • Nested recruitment filter editing: Updated the recruitment editor with a cleaner nested interface for managing business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) filters, replacing the previous modal-based approach
  • Live catalog integration: B2C filters now connect directly to live participant catalogs with improved matching to ensure accurate filter results
  • Expanded B2B filters: Added new filter options for business research including company revenue, tools used, and additional custom requirements
  • Open-ended filter support: Researchers can now use more flexible, open-ended filters when defining their target audience

Audience Tools

  • Audience estimator: New real-time participant count estimates help you understand the size of your potential audience before launching research

Improvement

Better support for Prolific study routing

Surveys can now serve multiple Prolific studies more reliably, and participants with recoverable submission states can retry participation.

Improvements

  • Multiple Prolific studies per survey: Surveys can now be linked to multiple Prolific studies simultaneously. The platform uses the study ID from the participant’s link to verify their participation, with a fallback to the survey’s primary Prolific study for backward compatibility.

  • Recoverable submission retries: Participants whose Prolific submissions entered certain recoverable states can now retry the participation link. This helps participants who were previously blocked from completing the study due to submission state changes.

How it works

When a participant joins from Prolific, the platform checks:

  1. The study ID in their participation link (if present)
  2. The survey’s primary linked Prolific study (as a fallback)

This allows surveys to serve multiple Prolific studies without routing errors, while keeping legacy behavior intact for surveys with a single study link.

Improvement

AI Interview setup improvements and guide editor

Researchers can now set up AI interviews more smoothly with better mic testing, and structured discussion guides with AI-powered formatting.

New Features

  • Structured discussion guide editor — Replace free-form text with organized topic cards that let you manage topics, questions, and follow-up depth visually
  • Paste & Structure — Paste your raw discussion guide text and AI will automatically structure it into topics and questions for you
  • Inline duration estimator — See estimated interview length as you build your discussion guide
  • Mic testing on pre-screen — Participants can test their microphone and check permissions before joining an AI interview, catching audio issues upfront instead of mid-session

Improvements

  • AI interview pre-screen now displays a mic dropdown, live audio level meter, and real-time feedback so participants know their microphone is working
  • Start Interview button is disabled until microphone is confirmed working

Feature

Third-party participant recruitment via Sources

Platform now supports recruiting participants from external panels through a new Sources system with dedicated landing pages and LinkedIn sign-up integration.

New Features

  • Sources system: Researchers can now recruit participants from external panels using dedicated source links. Admins generate source-specific links per study that participants can access.
  • Participant landing flow: Participants arriving via a source link see a source-aware landing page where they can optionally fill out a contact form or sign up with LinkedIn.
  • Unified credential system: Participants sign up through the standard LinkedIn flow with automatic linking to the source, creating a seamless experience across the platform.
  • Works across all study types: The Sources feature is available for surveys, unmoderated studies, AI interviews, and all other study types.
  • Source attribution: Each participant recruited through a source is properly tracked and attributed to that specific source.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a critical issue where survey requests outside the Sources flow were causing database errors. The system now correctly handles participant tokens for source-recruited participants without affecting standard recruitment flows.
