Product updates, new features, and improvements to the CleverX platform.

Fix

Video-diary task navigation and image loading improvements

Fixed a bug where the submit button would show a loading spinner indefinitely when moving between multiple video-diary tasks, and improved image loading performance when using the AI builder.

Bug Fixes

  • Multi-task video-diary navigation: Fixed an issue in studies with multiple video-diary tasks where the submit button on follow-up questions would remain in a “submitting” state after completing the first task. Participants can now seamlessly advance through tasks without needing to refresh the page.

Improvements

  • Faster image loading in AI builder: Images attached to video-diary questions through the AI builder chat now load more efficiently, providing a smoother experience for both researchers and participants viewing those questions.

Fix

AI builder now saves in-context questions

Fixed an issue where the AI study builder appeared to successfully add in-context questions to website tasks, but the questions weren't actually saved and didn't appear in the study.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a bug in the AI study builder where adding in-context questions to website tasks would show as successful but the questions would not persist or appear in the editor or when running the study

Improvement

Faster diary media loading and AI media attachments

Diary prompt images now load faster, and the AI study builder can correctly attach media to video-diary questions.

Improvements

  • Faster diary media loading — Diary prompt images now load more quickly through optimized client-side processing and intelligent caching strategies, reducing wait times for participants viewing video-diary tasks
  • AI builder media attachments — The AI study builder can now correctly attach media files to video-diary questions, ensuring images and other assets render properly in prompts instead of appearing as plain text

Fix

Fixed study completion tracking and participant redirects

Corrected completion counting and redirect behavior for surveys, AI interviews, and external participant sources to ensure accurate tracking and proper participant routing.

Completion Counting & Redirects Fixed

  • Accurate completion counts: Fixed double-counting of external participant completions in surveys and unmoderated studies — completions are now attributed to the correct study type (Panel vs. external source) instead of appearing in both
  • AI interview redirects: Participants completing AI interviews are now properly redirected back to their original source (external survey platforms) instead of getting stuck
  • External participant handling: Survey and unmoderated study completions from external sources now route participants correctly back to their recruitment platform

Auto-Invite for Community Participants Restored

  • Instant participant invitations: Studies with auto-invite enabled now properly send invitations to community participants immediately after they qualify, instead of holding them in manual review
  • All study types covered: Auto-invite now works correctly for all participant recruitment methods, including external and live-link surveys

Improvement

Image loading and meeting reminders improvements

Fixed stuck image spinners in video diaries and improved meeting reminder notifications.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed stuck image spinners in video diaries: Participants in unmoderated video-diary studies will no longer see permanent loading spinners where prompt images should appear. The image loader now works reliably even on slow networks or when images take time to load. Images are also preloaded so they’re ready when you need them.

Improvements

  • Enhanced meeting reminders: Meetings now send reminder notifications at both 24 hours before and 60 minutes before the scheduled start time, giving you more notice to prepare.

Improvement

Survey links, redirects, and meeting reminders improved

Fixed legacy survey URLs, improved meeting reminder timing, and enhanced participant redirect functionality after survey completion.

Improvements

  • Legacy survey URLs now redirect properly — Old survey links are automatically redirected to the current survey page, preserving bookmarks and shared links from previous versions
  • Anonymous participants return to their source — When participants complete a survey through an external source link, they are now properly redirected back to their original source with a countdown timer
  • Better meeting reminders for late bookings — Meeting reminders are now sent even when bookings are made very close to the meeting start time, and the reminder message shows the actual time remaining instead of a generic message
  • Accurate task status checking — Study tasks are now properly verified during launch readiness checks, ensuring status information is accurate

Improvement

Calendar Links and Applicant Visibility Improvements

Participants can now join sessions directly from calendar reminders, and project owners can see all applicants including those with incomplete profiles.

Improvements

  • Calendar event deep-linking: Participants who click calendar reminders now land directly on the Join Session page instead of needing an extra click to view the booking. This makes it faster and easier to join scheduled meetings.

  • All applicants visible in interests list: Project owners can now see all applicants in the interests list, including those who haven’t yet completed their profiles. This gives you a fuller picture of who’s interested in your opportunities.

Feature

Global links and video diary preview support

Researchers can now use a single global link with custom identifiers for BYOA studies, and video diary tasks are fully supported in study previews.

New Features

  • Global Links for BYOA Studies: Researchers can now enable a global link as an alternative to unique links. A single reusable link with a placeholder can be customized per participant using researcher-supplied identifiers. The new Global Link tab in the Distribution view includes controls to enable/disable, view the template link, pause/resume distribution, and access detailed explanations of how identifiers work.

  • Video Diary Preview Support: Study previews now fully support video diary tasks, allowing researchers to test the video recording experience before launching a study.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a duplicate token issue that prevented multiple participants from joining open-mode source studies using the same study link token.

Improvement

Add funds and screener stability improvements

Restored in-panel payment flow for adding funds, fixed screener question ordering issues, and improved survey response exports.

New Features

  • In-panel add funds flow: You can now add funds directly from your billing page in a slide-over panel. Select an amount, choose your payment method, and complete payment without leaving the billing section.
  • Completed responses CSV export: New export option for downloading completed survey responses with participant name, screener answers, and survey answers in a clean spreadsheet format.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed screener question deletion to target the correct question when multiple questions exist.
  • Fixed screener question numbering that was becoming misaligned after deleting and re-adding questions, which could cause exported data to show incorrect question positions.
  • Fixed the existing survey responses download to properly include screener answers for all participants, including those from internal testing.
  • Fixed survey response exports to exclude responses you’ve rejected, so the exported data matches your visible completion count.
  • Fixed the add funds panel to properly close after successful payment.

Feature

Smarter incentives and improved checkout flow

Dynamic incentive pricing now adapts to your audience type, and researchers can subscribe and launch studies in a single checkout flow.

New Features

  • Dynamic incentive pricing: Minimum and recommended incentive values now adjust based on whether you’re recruiting from general audiences or business audiences, helping you set more competitive compensation rates
  • Combined subscribe and launch flow: First-time researchers can now subscribe to a plan and launch a study in a single checkout, streamlining the onboarding experience
  • Prolific participation for B2B studies: Researchers running B2B studies can now recruit through Prolific by manually creating the study on Prolific’s platform and linking it to CleverX

Improvements

  • Better credit management: Credits are now consumed in a smarter order (expiring plan credits first, then wallet credits, then newly purchased credits), reducing waste and giving you more control over your spending
  • Clearer pricing display: The recruitment editor now shows real-time pricing guidance with minimum and recommended values pulled directly from the backend
